Book Review: Rhinoceros Success

Rhinoceros SuccessRhinoceros Success by Scott Alexander.

The first self-development book I ever read and still as great now as it was then.

This book was recommended to me in the late 1980s whilst I was working for a software house in Leeds – Tenhill Computer Systems for anyone else who was there too! I think it was the first time I’d heard of personal development and I wasn’t convinced. However this book changed my mind and since then I’ve read many many personal development books, some better than others.

Fifteen chapters complete with amusing illustrations (and they make me smile, so they must be amusing) cover many basics of personal development in simple language and easy to remember lessons. From The Art of Charging (would you want to stand in the way of a charging Rhino?) to Becoming a Rhinoceros Today.

Rhinoceros Success covers personal development basics such as focus/singleness of purpose and persistence - but for me, overall this book is great for tapping into our own motivation and so achieving our goals.

This blog post was inspired by a Katie Freiling tweet asking for our favourite personal development book – so Katie, Thank You for reminding me about the book , which I took down from the shelf and now feel more motivated. If you want more motivation, then read Rhinoceros Success by Scott Alexander.
